Here is how to check that a driver is installed correctly for a Cognex hardware device.
The first check is to use Windows Device Manager:
- From the Device Manager, click the + sign of the device category you want to examine to expand the category. For example, Cognex Hardware.
- If you see a yellow dot (with an exclamation mark in it) next to your device, the driver for that device is not installed correctly. If you do not see the yellow dot, continue with the following steps.
- Left-click the device to select it.
- Right-click the device then select Properties.
- Take a look at the Device status windows. If the message is 'This device is working properly', the driver is installed correctly as far as Windows is concerned.
The next check is to verify that CVL can talk to the device/driver.
